WNFIN
Finale Teleseminar
with Mike Larsen "Content, Character &
Connection: Becoming a Successful Writer in a
Bottom-Up World" 5:00 p.m. PST/8:00 p.m. EST
on November 30,
2011
Michael
Larsen and
his wife and partner Elizabeth Pomada worked in publishing in New York before moving to San
Francisco in 1970 and starting Larsen-Pomada Literary Agents in 1972. They are members of the
Association of Authors’ Representatives and have sold hundreds of books to more than 100
publishers and imprints.
Mike handles adult nonfiction that will interest New
York houses and has social, esthetic, or practical value, or is so needed or beautifully written
that a book’s commercial value doesn’t matter. He also has an editing and consulting service for
nonfiction writers he can’t help as an agent.
Mike is the author of How to Write a Book
Proposal, which has sold more than 100,000 copies. He also wrote How to Get a Literary
Agent, now in its third edition, and is coauthor of the second edition of Guerrilla Marketing for Writers: 100
Weapons for Selling Your Work.
Michael and Elizabeth are coauthors of the six books
in the Painted Ladies series about Victorian Houses, which sparked a national movement and sold
more than 500,000 copies. The trade journal Publishers
Weekly chose the second book in the series, Daughters of Painted Ladies:
America’s Resplendent Victorians, as one of the best books of the year.
Mike speaks for writer’s organizations and
conferences, and gives seminars based on Mike’s books. Mike and Elizabeth are co-founders of the
San Francisco Writers Conference and the San
Francisco Writers University.
